Merstham AAOR - Surrey

    Merstham AAOR

Date:   April 2021

Location: Surrey

Public or Abandoned: abandoned

Demolished:  awaiting

I first attempted to explore Merstham AAOR back in 2018 but was unable to gain access. After seeing recent reports and posts on Facebook and other social media indicating that the site was open again, I wasted no time in planning a visit. I asked my dad if he could look after my little one for a few hours while my partner and I went to Merstham. Fortunately, the drive was only 40 minutes. Once we arrived, we parked in the same spot as before and walked down the public footpath that runs alongside the site. As we stepped onto the AAOR grounds, we were surprised to find the area empty this time, with no scrap cars or other debris—just lots of empty skips that appeared to have been there for some time. Getting inside the AAOR was quite easy. As we explored the upper levels, we were careful to avoid touching any of the wooden structures, as they were rotting away. Overall, the exploration experience was enjoyable, and I was glad to finally tick this site off my list. It is said that the AAOR post was constructed in 1951 but was abandoned shortly thereafter in 1960. The site was also part of an army camp that was dismantled to make way for the M23 motorway nearby. As of December 2021, they are still waiting for permission to demolish the old AAOR bunker.

Hawkinge(1) Airfield Battle HQ - Hawkinge kent

 Hawkinge(1) Airfield Battle HQ

Date:   April 2021

Location: Hawkinge

Public or Abandoned: Abandoned

Demolished:  No

After seeing some of my friends visit the Battle HQ, I decided to look it up on Google to find its location. I also double-checked with my friends to ensure I had the right pin.

We hopped in the car and drove down to Hawkinge. Once we arrived, it was easy to find parking and walk to our destination. However, I wasn’t impressed by the number of stinging nettles in the area.

When we climbed in, I went down the ladder (which felt a bit sketchy) into a small room, and then into another room that was flooded! It was an okay exploration, but it’s not somewhere I would visit again. I also believe we found a room that might have been a generator room.

It’s said that these are some of the few remaining buildings from the old Battle HQ.

Abandoned Cars - bredhurst woods - Gillingham

 Abandoned cars

Date:   April 2021

Location: Medway

Public or Abandoned: Abandoned

Demolished:  No

Today we went and explored some local woods in Kent, after seeing these cars online a few times and some help from a Non explore ( i assume someone who local ) they gave me the right direction to the cars

Getting to the cars was pretty simple as it on a public footpath pretty much in open woodland.

Iv has seen derelict cars before but nothing like this so it did amaze me but the weather wasn’t on our side and it was a little of a walk back, so had to be quick on snapping some photos

But defo someone where I’ll go back , is just a simple nice woodland walk with a twist

sadly i could not find much history on these cars
