West Malling - AA Bofors Tower

We took the bus to West Malling in search of the tower. Upon arrival, we found it easily thanks to a plaque that identified its significance. As we approached, we noticed a gap under the fence, which allowed us to crawl through and explore the area around the tower. Our visit was brief but enjoyable. This structure is recognized as an anti-aircraft gun tower, commonly referred to as a Pickett-Hamilton fort, featuring a Type 24 pillbox. It played a crucial role during World War II as part of the WM airfield that once existed on King Hill.

Mathew Riding School - Rainham ( Medway )

I went on a local exploration one afternoon, driven by a curiosity to discover hidden gems in my area. During my adventure, I stumbled upon a building that immediately piqued my interest. Its imposing structure loomed ahead, and as I drew closer, I noticed the wind whistling eerily through the cracks and crevices, which sent a shiver down my spine and gave the place a distinctly spooky atmosphere. Although I didn’t particularly enjoy the unsettling vibe, I was determined to cross this location off my list of places to visit. Over the years, I had heard numerous horror stories associated with this site, each tale more chilling than the last, and these accounts had always deterred me from visiting until now. I was curious to see for myself what made this building so notorious. As I did some research, I learned that the riding school had been closed down in the '90s due to poor road planning, which came as a surprise given its intriguing history. It was built in memory of the owner’s son, adding an element of poignancy to its imposing presence. However, the building’s story took a tragic turn in 2009 when a fire swept through part of it, leaving behind charred remnants of what once was and further solidifying its haunted reputation.

King Bastion - Chatham

As a local resident of Medway, I decided it was finally time to explore the infamous tunnels I've heard so much about. Accessing them was surprisingly straightforward, and I was excited to see what I could uncover. While I was there, I also spotted a few nearby locations that piqued my curiosity, so I made a quick stop to check those out as well. My exploration of the tunnels was brief, and I found myself wishing there was more information available about their history and purpose. I’m eager to dig deeper and uncover any details I can find. I’ll keep this post updated if I come across any new insights!

Camden Lock - london

Spent the day in London but could not explore the flats as they were inaccessible. However, I managed to take some photos before their demolition and replacement with new flats.
