North entrance - Dover

 North Entrance Dover

Date:  September 2022

Location: Dover

Public or Abandoned: Tours

Demolished:  No

Soon as I saw that the north entrance had an open day I booked up the free ticket to see what it was like inside - I had been wording for years about what it is like inside, and it was the one place I had left on my map to do, we arrived in Dover an hour before our tour time was due to start so we had another look around western heights area at the st marting battery and a few other places too,

We then went down to the north entrance, and wait for our tour - are time come for the tour and we went in, and I have to say it was pretty interesting to see and the fact it been left how it was also interesting to see  as well
the volunteers did really well on keeping the place light up and also giving very good information on the tour.

So it said online from a number of different sites that north entrance is a good exampled of fornication,  it was used as the main road always up to 1960  from the 1860s when sadly a new road was put in destroying what is there,  The north entrance was used in the wars,  Once the new road was put it they did destroy 2/3 water tanks using them as dumping grounds but ONE of the water tanks are still in place. After the new military road was put the site fell into disrepair and was abandoned.

the site is once a year on a heritage tour.
