Fordwich town hall
Date April | Location Kent | Delmoished No
This location was part of the Wheels of Time trail and is a little hidden gem. It was a bit challenging to reach due to road closures that forced us to take a long diversion. However, once we arrived, we spent some time exploring the town hall. Although it was quite small, it was still fascinating and enjoyable, even on a very hot day. The hall itself has been used for various purposes, and the volunteers there were lovely.
The building is Grade II listed and dates back to around the 15th century. It is constructed from the original timbers and has served as a courtroom, complete with a jail cell. It is said that the gaol was last used in 1855, where two men were convicted. The town hall can accommodate around 30-35 guests for ceremonies.
