Elton Mill, Elton, Cambridgeshire

Elton Mill

Date - January
Location - Elton
Demolished - no
*

This was our last exploration of the day, and I have to say the start was quite challenging because almost every single cow was in the field, and I really dislike cows. Once we got inside, we were only there for a short period of time since it was getting dark outside. We managed to have a quick look around, but I must say I definitely won’t be returning to this location because it felt quite spooky.
Once we left the mill, all the cows disappeared, and I was relieved!

The mill dates back to around 1800, possibly even earlier. It was granted Grade II listed status in 1988 and was used for corn milling. In the 1990s, it briefly opened as a tourist attraction but sadly closed down again. There was also a house that used to be attached to the mill, but it was demolished around 1881.

Jackie Pallo Home - Broadstairs

Jackie Pallo Home  Date: 14-07-2019  Location : Broadstairs  I made a quick roadside stop to explore this house, but didn't know much about it beforehand. Once inside, I found it to be extremely gutted, with almost nothing inside except for a really cool patio. I learned that a former wrestling star, Jackie, lived in the house until he sadly passed away in 2006. The house was left abandoned, and now a developer from Broadstairs has applied to have the farmhouse demolished to make way for more houses.

St bartholomew hospital - Rochester - kent

St Bartholomew hospital  Date: Jan 2020 Location: Rochester Public or Abandoned: Abandoned Demolished:  Yes This was a quick visit and spear of the moment, it was not on my to-do list as I didn't even know the hospital was abandoned, and though it was still in use, getting in was easy  , once inside we look around the empty rooms , there was not much left in the site but the morgue  was the best part as the table slab was still there all in once piece, It said that st bartholomew hospital was built in 1078 but closed down in 2016, The site had planning permission to build 155 homes, They have since restored the building to homes. so the site is no longer  2021

Battery observation point Folkstone

Battery observation point  Date: August 2024 Location:  Kent  public/abandoned - Abandoned  "We stumbled upon this place while exploring the area, and it came up on the map. We took a short walk to the observation post, and initially, I wasn't sure if we could get in. To my surprise, it was really easy to access. There wasn't much to see inside, as the building was in a state of decay and being overrun by nature." I can't find much history on this battery observation point, but I know it would have been used in the wars like most others.
