Today blog post is a little bit different, today as a family we went to an English Heritage site (:

It was late afternoon and it has stopped raining so we hopped into the car and drove down to near Guildford ( just over an hour away ) ~ to go to Waverley abbey

I had this site pinned for a while now and being English Heritage members I thought why not, once we arrived at the site to surprise it was still pretty busy, but that didn’t stop us going. We took the nice little stroll down by the lake ( saw ducks and geese ) and entered the abbey

The abbey itself was pretty interesting and price full even know there were a fair amount of people around

it is said that the Waverly abbey is one of the first monasteries that is founded in Britain, and a small group of monks that was from Frances stayed in the monastery back in 1128
