* AS FROM 2020 - SITE BEING RESTORED *
I'm happy to share my experience of exploring the Sliverlands Orphanage building back in 2019. Fortunately, the building had been restored to its former glory. It was not difficult to access at the time, and we were able to explore the building without any disturbance. This beautiful house was rebuilt in 1820 and became a large country house for a local brewer in 1849. Later, in 1938, it became an "actor's" orphanage and served for around 20 years before becoming a nursing school for nearby hospitals and asylums. Unfortunately, the building was abandoned in 2002 and remained so until 2020, when restoration work began. In the early 2000s, there were plans to turn it into a paedophilia clinic, but the community rejected the proposal. The building is also a grade 2 listed building."
