Prince William Barracks - Chatham

Prince William Barracks

Date: march
Access: Nope
Location: Chatham

* AS FROM 2020 IT NOW OPEN TO PUBLIC *

I always wanted to explore this part of the barracks. While already out for another exploration, we thought we'd give it another go this time. Unfortunately, this part of the fort was in a sorry state. Despite the pitch-black darkness and lack of light, we managed to have a walk around and see what was there.

We learned that the barracks got its name from their 3rd son. Additionally, we discovered that the battery was used as a royal saluting battery in the 19th century, even though the rest of the fort was declared obsolete.
