                                           Delmoished:  No

While heading to another location, we came across this little pillbox, so we thought we would stop and check it out. It was a quick little stop, and since it was very hot out, we didn't stay long. The pillbox was quite small, but it was pretty cool inside.

This pillbox is a Fe3/24 Style Box, classified as a casemate type. It was used during World War II and was said to have been built between 1940 and 1941.

Grain Battery Fort - Medway

Grain Battery Fort

                                           Abandoned or Public : Abandoned
                                           Delmoished:  No

"I've been to the fort several times before, maybe 5 or 6 times, but this visit was spontaneous. Even though I was in a grainy area, I decided to head out to the fort (not recommended if you're wearing white shoes!). I just wanted to snoop around, and to be honest, it was worth it. It was so peaceful."

Grain Tower, which is a mid-19th-century fort located in Medway, Kent. The fort was utilized during both WW1 and WW2, but it was decommissioned in 1956 and remained abandoned until around 2014 when it was sold for around £400,000. Subsequently, the tower was put back up for sale and was resold in 2023 for around £159,000.

I've been meaning to visit the tunnels for quite a while now, but for some reason, I never got around to it. While I was waiting around for pick-up time, I decided to take a look at the tunnels. There are a lot of different rumors about these tunnels, and no one really knows what they were used for.

On the way back from exploring another location nearby, we came across this pillbox while looking for a completely different pillbox. Getting to it was pretty easy but slightly overgrown. The pillbox was an interesting and very clean-looking one.,

Euston : the lost tunnel - Hidden London tour

  Euston - The Lost Tunnel

                                           Date:June
                                           Location: London
Abandoned or Public : Hidden London Tours.
                                           Delmoished: N0

I recently went on my second Hidden London tour, and this one has been my favorite so far. The tour took us back to around the 1960s and offered a complete time capsule of what life was like back then. These tours are definitely worth doing if you want to discover hidden gems like this in London..

From the information I found online, the Euston tunnels have been abandoned for over 60 years and are like a real time capsule of what life was like back then. The Euston main line station opened in 1907. The other two buildings in Euston closed down in September 1914, leaving only the tunnel. The mainline station was rebuilt in the 1960s, causing the old connection passages and ticket hall to close down in April 1962..

Jewel Tower - London

 Jewel Tower

                                           Date: June
                                           Location:   London
Abandoned or Public : Public ( English H)
                                           Delmoished: N0

When I was out and about in London for the day, I decided to check out the Jewel Tower after learning that it was a historical English Heritage site. I have to say, I was somewhat disappointed by its small size and it didn't match my expectations. On the positive side, I found the staff to be really lovely. I was able to explore the Jewel Tower in about 20 minutes due to its small size, but overall, it was somewhat interesting.

The tower is a 14th-century structure, built between 1365-1366, and it is located in Westminster, London. From 1921, the House of Lords was assigned a permanent home in the Jewel Tower until it was transferred to the Victoria Tower in the mid-19th century. The English Heritage now looks after the tower.
