The Royal Engineers Museum is located in Gillingham, Kent. This museum is quite interesting, and you can easily spend a few hours here on a family day out. Just keep in mind that there is a small admission fee.

Sygun Copper Mine - Wales

Sygun Copper Mine

Date:  June 2014

Location:  North wales

Demolished - No

Sygun Copper Mine is an old Victorian mine that sadly closed in 1903. The mines were later restored and opened to the public in 1986, allowing visitors to explore the site. The tours are self-guided, so you can take your time walking around and discovering what life was like underground during Victorian times. The mines were primarily used for copper mining. This is definitely a place I plan to revisit when I explore Wales again.
