"We heard that Temple Manor was having its monthly opening, so we decided to check it out. It's a small but great hidden gem. 

According to the information provided, Temple Manor was built in the 13th century. The hall located in Temple Manor was designed to provide lodging for travellers between Dover and London."

Detached Bastion Dover

Western heights detached bastion

As we continued with our Dover tours, we headed towards Western Heights to explore the Watched Bastion. It wasn't anything extraordinary, but it was a good little adventure and interesting to see. The locals refer to it as "Smokey," and you may encounter them in the area.

The Western Heights are considered the most impressive fortifications in Britain, built between the 18th and 19th centuries to protect the key ports of Dover. By the 20th century, it had become the strongest fortification in the country.

Rochester Castle - Medway

"I used to visit Rochester Castle often when I was growing up. However, I recently decided to visit again and take some pictures of it.

 Rochester Castle is located in Medway and is a 12th-century keep with a stone tower. It is considered to be the best-preserved tower in England."
