After discovering this place online, I was really excited to explore the hospital. We met up with some friends and headed there, but unfortunately, it was sealed off, and there was no way to get in. Although we were a bit disappointed, we didn’t let it get us down and decided to move on to our next location. According to what we read, Hellingly Hospital was once part of the East Sussex County Asylum, which was a large psychiatric hospital that eventually closed down. It was located in a village.
