While walking around Cliffe, I came across the remains of an old cement works. I was really curious to see what it was, so I decided to take a closer look. There wasn’t much left of the cement works, just a few kilns that used to be there. They are said to date back to 1866. The history of this place is a bit challenging to uncover, but exploring the kilns was easy. It was only when I was editing the photos and researching the history that I realized there is more to the site than I initially thought. Perhaps one day, I’ll go back to explore it further.
