Fort Burgoyne - Dover

  Fort Burgoyne

                                           Date: May
                                           Location:  Dover
                                           Abandoned or Public : Tours
                                           Delmoished: N0

I saw on Facebook that Fort Burgoyne was having an open day, allowing visitors to explore the entire fort. I decided to take the opportunity and head down to Dover to check it out. The entire fort was open for exploration, and there was a guided tour of the underground areas every 45 minutes. I spent a good few hours here, looking around, taking photos, and videos.

Fort Burgoyne, also known as the "castle on the hill," was built around the 1860s. The fort was named Fort Burgoyne in the 19th century. During World War I, it was used as a military depot. In 2014, the fort was acquired by the land trust, and they spent around £2.5 million stabilizing and restoring the site to its present state.,

Dover Transport Museum

Dover Transport Museum

                                           Location:  Dover
                                           Abandoned or Public : public
                                           Delmoished: N0

The transport museum is open on Wednesdays and Sundays. One Wednesday, I took the opportunity to head down there and have a look at what the little museum has to offer. The price of admission is good because the ticket lasts a whole year. The museum has lots to offer. For some reason, I didn't take many photos. I do recommend going to the museum if you like different styles of cars or if you're just in Dover.

Mill Skate park - Tracks - Sittinborne - Kent

 Mill skate park tracks

                                             Date: May
                                           Location: Sittingborn
                                           Abandoned or Public : public
                                           Delmoished: N0

My 3-year-old wanted to go to a skate park, so we decided to check out the one in Sittingbourne. What I was not expecting was to find that it was built on some old tracks. The skate park itself is semi-okay but in a bit of a weird place. It's decent enough if you're looking to learn to do some stuff on a scooter or bike, and it's also very quiet. I'm unsure about the history of what the skate park was built on, as I can't seem to find anything online

St Leonards - Faversham - Kent

I had some time to spare before I had to pick up my daughter from nursery, so I thought I'd head down to Faversham in the morning to check out this little church I saw online. I have to say, it was a pretty little church and a very beautiful one too. It was a quick explore because of how small the church was. For some reason, I cannot find much information about this church online.

citadel battery Dover - Kent

 Citadel Battery

                                           Date: May
                                           Location: Dover
                                           Abandoned or Public : abandoned
                                           Delmoished: N0

I explored this place at the start of May. It was the first time I had explored it during the day. The last time I visited this battery was back in 2018, and it was done in the dark, which was an interesting experience. However, during this visit in the daytime, I didn't explore the underground parts. It was still a very interesting experience and definitely a good spot to hang out with friends as you won't really see anyone else around. The batteries are quite run down though, as they haven't been well maintained.

The Citadel is one of the main fortifications on the western heights, along with a few others. It was constructed in 1898 and completed around 1901. It is said to have had 9.2 guns. The fort was manned through the 20th century and was used in World War II. It is said that around 1970, it started to become a victim of vandalism.
