Dover Castle - Kent

This was my first time visiting Dover Castle, and wow, the castle was amazing and so big! I didn't even get to explore everything since not everything was open due to lockdown and social distancing rules, so I need to come back in the future. It is said that Dover Castle is a medieval castle and was founded in the 11th century.

I wouldn't go out of my way to explore this site because there isn't much to see. However, since I was already in the area, I thought I would take a look. There's nothing fancy here, and you can't even get close to it.

Bayham Old Abbey

As the site was reopening, we thought we would head over to Bayham Old Abbey since it was a long drive and we wanted to take a look at the site. The site is interesting. The site is owned by English Heritage.

Folkstone Harbour Train station

I have always wanted to visit Folkstone Harbour, even when it was abandoned, but I never had the chance until now. When I saw that they had restored it, I took the opportunity to explore the old harbour. I was pleased to see how nicely they restored the old harbour tracks. The site operated until 2001 when it closed to passengers. It was one of the four railway stations in the town. The site officially closed in 2014, and it remained abandoned until 2015. It took three years to complete the restoration, after which it reopened to the public. The site is now used for events, markets, and much more.
