I have always wanted to visit Folkstone Harbour, even when it was abandoned, but I never had the chance until now. When I saw that they had restored it, I took the opportunity to explore the old harbour. I was pleased to see how nicely they restored the old harbour tracks.
The site operated until 2001 when it closed to passengers. It was one of the four railway stations in the town. The site officially closed in 2014, and it remained abandoned until 2015. It took three years to complete the restoration, after which it reopened to the public. The site is now used for events, markets, and much more.
