Urquhart Castle - Scotland

Urquhart Castle

Date: June 2016

Location: Lochness

Public or Abandoned: public

Demolished:  No

It was a very cold and wet day when we went to explore the castle. However, it was still a fascinating place to explore, as there were many people still visiting despite the bad weather. Thanks to our English Heritage pass, we were able to access some of the Scottish sites too.

The castle is believed to date back to the 13th to 16th centuries, but it may even be older. It played a significant role in the Scottish Wars of Independence and overlooks Loch Ness.
