HM Prison Social Club - Dover

HM Prison Officers Social  Club

Date : 7-1-2018
Location - Dover
Access No.

During my visit to Dover, I decided to check out this building. It required a bit of a climb to get to, but it was manageable. There wasn't much to see, as it was pretty burned out, but it was still cool to explore. The hall was reportedly built in the 1880s and closed in 1999. It was originally used as a place for the prison guards from the nearby facility to socialize. Unfortunately, in 2003, a fire broke out due to an arson attack.

This was just a quick exploration. It wasn't anything special; it was simply a roadside drop-off. Most air raid shelters were used during the war.

Gillingham Abandoned Railway line

Disused Railway tracks

Location: Gillingham
date - November 2017
Access - Nope

I explored these railway tracks for the first time in 2013 and returned with a friend in 2017. It felt like going back to where my exploration journey began. Not much has changed since my first visit, except the area has become overgrown. This time, we ventured all the way down to the entrance of ASDA, which now occupies the site where the old docks used to be located. The markings on the tracks indicated that they once led to those old docks. Additionally, we noticed a nuclear waste site nearby.

St Leonards Tower - West Malling

St Leonards tower

Location: West Malling
Acess : Yes
Date :  November  2017

We were somewhat local to this place, so we decided to check it out. However, we were a bit disappointed with our stay, as we expected more. Additionally, there was no access to the tower, which was a letdown. We didn’t spend much time there since we were heading home and wanted to avoid getting caught in traffic.

According to the information provided, St. Leonards Tower is a typical keep built between 1077 and 1108. Although it is not certain, it is believed that the tower was deliberately damaged to prevent its use by the military during the Civil War.
