Moat Bulwark & Guildford Shaft - Dover

Moat Bulwark & Guildford Shaft.

Date Jan 2018
Location : Dover
Abandoned or public-abandoned
Delmoished No

Our last exploration of the night before heading home led us up the steps to a surprise - the site was still open. Once inside, we started to look around. It was a small and simple site, but still quite fun, although it was a bit damp outside due to the rain. The information at the site explained that it was built as part of Henry VII's plans to defend the harbor. It also mentioned that the large semi-battery was added in the 1740s, and larger guns were added around 1853. In 2014, a spiral case was cut to connect to the castle. The site was used in both World Wars, but it now sits rotting away.

Gillingham Abandoned Railway line

Disused Railway tracks

Location: Gillingham
date - November 2017
Access - Nope

I explored these railway tracks for the first time in 2013 and returned with a friend in 2017. It felt like going back to where my exploration journey began. Not much has changed since my first visit, except the area has become overgrown. This time, we ventured all the way down to the entrance of ASDA, which now occupies the site where the old docks used to be located. The markings on the tracks indicated that they once led to those old docks. Additionally, we noticed a nuclear waste site nearby.
