A2 - Shorne Wood Country ParkAir-raid ( KENT )

Shorne Wood Country ParkAir-raid

Date April | Location Kent | Delmoished No

I received this pin from another explorer. This is the only accessible air raid shelter, and it isn’t as large as I expected it to be.

There isn’t much information available online about this air raid shelter, but it was used during World War II.

Air-raid shelter - Brompton kent

 Air raid shelter

Date  Feb |  location Brompton | Delmoised  No

I was walking to town with a friend when we passed through Brompton, so I thought I would show them the air raid shelter, as they had never seen it before and didn't even know it was there. I have explored it before.

It is said that during World War II, the shelters were built to help protect civilians from air raids. The shelters came in all different sizes and types.

Air-raid shelter in the woods - Sevenoaks

 Air-raid shelter in woods

Date:   March 2021

Location sevenoaks

Public or Abandoned: Abandoned

Demolished:  No

20 mins down the road from Otford Palace was some lovely woodland, in these woodlands are small ruins of what used to be an air-raid shelter ( remind me of a Twix bar from the distance “

We got out of the car and walk into the woodlands, was a lovely but muddy walk into the woods down the little air-raid shelter

The air raid shelter itself is just a holly out shell, with remains of other foundations around it.

When we got back to the car we managed to be the rain got admitted was a great feeling πŸ˜‚

Ashenbank Wood air raid shelter - Cobham

Ashenbank Wood air-raid shelter

location: Ashenbank woods
Date: 17-03- 2020
Current state: You can visit  on walks

We were just walking around the woods as we had recently discovered it. The air-raid shelter was used in World War II and was one of five camps in the area. After the site was utilized by the Royal Naval in 1945, homeless individuals used the site until 1954 when the huts were removed, and the area returned to nature.
