st margaret bay - Cliffe Complex - Dover

Cliffe Complex

Date:   May 2018

Location:  Dover

Public or Abandoned:  Abandoned

Demolished:  No

this was a b+tch to get into as we had to climb up the rope into the complex,  and climbing is not my strongest point, but i did it  , we was with a bunch of other explores and made a day of exploring places in Dover - it was over all grate fun

so it said that the site was due to the war, and st margarate beach was seen as a possible place for invasion so they had to make sure the site was well protected due to the war, The pillbox and tunnel system is still there to this date. it was also built to help the nr by gun placement as they would have been a target.

Winchelsea Caves, Dover

Winchelsea Caves, Dover

date: May 2018
Location : Dover
abandoned/Public - Abandoned
Sealed -Yes

I recently went on a quick trip to Dover to explore the Winchelsea Caves. I had heard that they were still accessible, so I headed straight for the tunnels and began exploring. Once inside, we started walking through the tunnels and climbing through small gaps. The tunnels were really interesting. As we got towards the other end, we saw workers, so I have to admit I ran with the torches!

These caves were used around 1350 during World War 2, and the conditions must have improved because the king and queen took shelter there on 18th October 1944 during a shelling raid. It's said that the queen was smiling after they emerged once the air raid was over.

South case mates - Dover

Southcase Mates Dover

Date : May 2018
location : Dover
Abandoned or public - Abandoned
delmosihed No

This location had been on my radar for a while, so we headed to Dover and met up with another explorer who took us down to the South Casemates. Getting down here was quite difficult, but it was worth it. After looking around, we went over to the Dread Pipe. Even though I got through the pipe, I didn't take any photos of the other side as I panicked and went back through because I was worried I was going to get stuck. But from the quick glance I saw, the other side seemed pretty clean. Maybe one day I'll go back and explore further.

history History is unknown i will update when I find it
