Blackwidow Submarine - Strood

BlackWidow Submarine

Date:   December 2014

Location: Medway

Demolished:  no

Not much can be said about this submarine, as it dates back to the Cold War and is located in the River Medway. It’s always been a place I’ve wanted to explore, but I have never been able to find a way in or locate the person who owns the submarine.

Hurricane Aircraft Crash Memorial WW2

Date:   December

Location: Portsmouth

Demolished:  no

There isn't much to say about this location, except that if you visit, please show respect, as it is a memorial for those who died in a crash during World War II. I happened upon it by chance and took a moment to pay my respects before leaving the site.

Candy's Pit - Portsmouth

 Candy's Pit -

Date:   December

Location: Portsmouth

Demolished:  no

I discovered on the Portsdown Tunnels website that Candy Pit is actually an abandoned quarry. While searching for something else, I inadvertently stumbled upon small chalk holes in the wall. They were easy to climb into, but I ended up getting covered in chalk.

GPO PR1 Protected repeater - Portsmouth

GPO PR1 Protected repeater - Portsmouth.

Date:   December

Location: Portsmouth

Demolished:  No

This bunker is one of only eight constructed between 1951 and 1956. When I first discovered it, I didn’t know what it was and couldn't gain entry. As a result, I could only take exterior shots of it.

It is rumored that there is an air raid shelter in Broom Hill Park; however, no evidence has been found to support this claim. While searching for these alleged shelters, I came across what appeared to be covered objects, but I was unable to lift them.

Colonial House - Medway

Colonial House

Date:   October

Location: Medway

Demolished:  Yes

According to reports, the Colonial House was a building valued at £35 million, but it only served its purpose for a limited time. In 2018, it was approved for demolition to make way for new housing in the area. Unfortunately, I was unable to explore the interior of the building and could only walk around the exterior due to tight security. The building was eventually demolished, and new structures now occupy the site as of 2018.

River Lavant Tunnel, Chichester

River Lavant Tunnel, Chichester

Date:   October

Location: Chichester

Demolished:  No

There is very little known about the history of these tunnels, but they are prone to flooding during bad weather or high tides. I will not go back to this particular set of tunnels again, as they were extremely creepy when I explored them. All I could think about was the possibility of getting trapped or being chased down the tunnels. I believe they might just be storm drain tunnels.
