Farnham Keep - Farnham Surrey

 Farnham Keep

 Date:  April
Location: Surrey
Public or Abandoned: public
Demolished: No

We thought we go and check out Farnham Keep as we were visiting the adventure playground that is pretty much next door to the keep, the keep was well maintained for free entry sites, and the staff walked around the site to make sure everything okay was friendly too, the downside is the weather was a bit of a wired on as it was sunny and raining,

It said that Farnham Keep is a 12th-century Castle, it also said that the Bishops of Winchester , was formally residence of the castle

Kent life - Open air museum

 Kent life

 Date:  April
Location: Maidstone
Public or Abandoned: public
Demolished: No

I went for a day out in kent life with my little one and a few friends, it was a fun day out and for the first time ever I went into the building around kent life ( normally I skip them ), the farm has a load of buildings with interesting history around  them as well as animals you can feed and touch and parks, indoor soft place, tractor ride ect, in the springtime you can see lambs and chicks, the admission price is around about £12 per person over the age of 2, so it worth a visit if you want a day out

So  kent life is an open museum/farm located in the Maidstone area, Back in 1984 they restored a derelict farm  as a part of a open-air museum, it took them one year to restore the farm and open it up as what you see it a day, Some of the building are grade 2 listed buildings,

  sanding farmhouse,
So it said that this is one of the original farm buildings, it said that the last tenant of the farm lived there up until their death  when they were 98 yrs old and died in 2001, it said that the building backdates to the sixteenth century

Lenham cottages
the building are grade 2 listed and was originally Threatened by a channel tunnel railway link. The cottage was offered to KL to save them, so between 1999 & 2001, the building was dismallated and rebuilt. By mid-2001 they were open to the public as part of the open-air museum

Wagon Store  :
This building was built for the open-air museum back in 1993 - the photo below you  see is the forge located back at the wagon store and it was re-created for people to see.

Pets farmhouse
So it said that its a grade 2 listed building and it's a late 18th-century farmhouse  There not much history that can be found on this house

Chapel
So the chapel was originally built in cuxton in 1897 out of timber frame and it was donated to the museum in 20000s

Fort Amherst Tunnels

 Date:  April
Location: Medway
Public or Abandoned: public ( Tours)
Demolished: No

I got invited to the fort Amherst fairy event that is held once a year at the fort, the event runs inside the tunnels and also out on the grounds, over the years I have explored the fort but never been in the tunnels, the tunnels were pretty interesting and very decorated for the fairy event with lots going on and stall holders.
over the event was great fun.

So it said that in 1880 militia regiment was sent to Chatham to dig tunnels and the Fort Amherst tunnel was the result of their digging. the tunnels have also been featured in a number of different films such as "the mission ", sherlock Homes, darkest hour, and much more.
