Barmouth Bridge

Date: May

While driving to our next location in Wales, we stumbled upon Barmouth Bridge and stopped to admire the stunning views. The bridge is a single-track wooden railway.

Dinorwic quarry - Wales

Dinrowic Quarry

Date : may
Location: North wales
Demolished No

Over the weekend, we visited Wales again and explored Dinorwic Quarry. This site is a treasure trove of hidden gems and has much to offer. Most of the attractions can be found along the blue walking route around the quarry, which also provides a glimpse into how people lived and worked there.

It was fascinating to learn that Dinorwic Quarry used to be a large operational quarry but has now been transformed into a museum. Visiting the museum helped us gain a better understanding of what life was like in the past.

Burham tunnels - Medway

Burham Tunnels

Date : May
Location : Burham
Access : No

We had an interesting exploration experience when we met up with a few other explorers and headed to Burham Tunnels. To be honest, it was just a long tunnel that was used in the past. The tunnel was dug into a chalk pit and was used to supply chalk for a nearby quarry that operated from 1854 to 1938.

Sheerness water tower

Sheerness Water tower

Date : March
Location : Sheerness on sea
Delmoihsed - NO

visited this location, which was the last on my list. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to enter the building due to access restrictions. However, it was quite fascinating to explore the surroundings. The structure consisted of two parts: one building that originally housed the water tank, which was later removed, and a second building that was added later. According to historical records, the first building was constructed between the 1840s and 1850s, while the second building was built in 1890. Regrettably, the building was destroyed by fire in late 2022.

Sheerness Dockyard Church

Sheerness Dockyard Church

Date:  March
Location: Sheerness on sea
Delmoished - No

During my visit to Sheerness, I decided to check out the old church. Unfortunately, I found that the church is in ruins, and there is no access to the interior. It is said that the church was originally built for dockyard workers and was later redeveloped for the Royal Naval Dockyards between 1813 and 1830.

**Update:** The church has now been restored.

Rainham Medway - ROC post

Rainham ROC

Date : March
Location : Rainham Kent
Delmoished - No

During our exploration, we also visited the Rainham Kent ROC post. The post was concealed in a remote location, and it was challenging to locate. However, if you're interested in geocaching, you'll find a geocache at this location, which was a pleasant surprise. This ROC post was operational from 1961 to 1968 and was sealed permanently after that..
