Grain Dummy Fort - Grain kent

Grain Dummy Fort

Date:   September

Location: Grain

Demolished:  No

The fort, completed in 1865, was out of service by World War I. It briefly functioned as an anti-aircraft defense system before being abandoned. During its demolition, the fort was significantly damaged. Originally equipped with a 6-inch rifle breach gun, it was renamed from Grain Battery to Dummy Fort in 1905.

Although navigating the site can be challenging, visitors can spend about 30 to 40 minutes exploring, taking photographs, and filming. It's worth mentioning that the power station visible in the accompanying photo has since been demolished.
