St Martin Church
Date: August | Location: Canterbury |Delmoished: No
This visit to St. Martin Church was not planned. We were already visiting a heritage site just five minutes down the road when I noticed the church nearby on the map. Since exploring churches is one of our favorite activities, we decided to check it out.
When we arrived, the church was busy with visitors. There were two lovely people greeting everyone, and they had organized a little game for children, where they had to find specific items within the church. I must say, it was a great idea as my five-year-old couldn't stop talking about it all the way home.
St. Martin Church is said to be the oldest church in England that is still in use within the English-speaking world. The church's architecture is a mix of Roman, Saxon, Norman, and some medieval styles. It was built in the 6th century.
