Type 24 pillbox - Staple Kent

This was an unexpected stop. We were driving down a country lane to reach another location when we noticed this pillbox and decided to stop. I have to say, like most pillboxes, this one was slightly different; it looked like the middle section had been removed, but I could be completely wrong. The area was a bit overgrown with nettles, but it wasn't anything major. We took a quick look around and then got back in the car to continue on to our next destination.


Most pillboxes were built during World War II and were used in the war.
