Minster Abbey Gatehouse Museum - isle of sheepy

  Minster Abbey Gatehouse Museum

Date: September 2024
Location:  Kent
Public or abandoned - Public.

The number of times I have been to the Isle of Sheppey, I never knew this site existed. So, when I discovered it, I was amazed. There is a small fee to get in, but it's worth going to have a look. The staircase has loads of paintings along it, and it was such a cool thing to see.

So it was said to date back to the 12th century and was identified as the original gatehouse for the Abby of St. Mary and Sexburyg. The gatehouse is a Grade 1 listed building.
