After reading about this bunker on the Web and wanting to visit for a while I kept missing the open days, so finally got around to it., I mainly went to the open day to explore the bunker, and that was great fun it was bigger than I expected, and we did check out the Steam engine rooms too

Bit history off the web :
Brede Southern Water ( on the site off Brede Steam giants ) is 1/3 of the emergency bunkers that south Eastern water owns, Chatham & Twyford are the other two

The bunker was built in the late around the late 1980s, the bunker would have been used in an emergency of a nuclear war

The bunker is said to stop being used around 1992
The bunker can be visited on Brede Steam giants open days is the first Saturday of each month
