We popped over to Gravesend to go to the fort again to show my friend around but I thought ill pop back into this little site so I can cross it off my list of English heritage sites ( even know the fort, not English heritage ) this site just happens to sit on the grounds. it's an interesting little site for sure.
it said it was the oldest building in Gravesend, it said that all that remains of the leper hospital that was built in 1322,
the site house was also used as a tour chapel, public house, and Georgina barracks, it said that basement of the house aw used as a gas decontamination chamber during the second world war. it said the building still has the 14th-century timber roof.
