I first tried Merstham AAOR back in 2018 but was unable to get in, after seeing new reports/posts pop up on Facebook and other social media that the site was open again I didn’t waste any time on getting down to see the site

I asked my dad if he could look after my little one for a few hours why me and my other half pop down to Merstham , lucky for us the drive is only 40 mins.
Once we got there we parked I. Same place as before and walk down the public footpath that runs alongside off it,

Once we were on the site of the AAOR we were surprised that it was empty this time with no scrap cars or other bits on-site just lots of empty skips but they had been there for some time

Getting inside the AAOR was so easy, once we started to walk around the upper levels avoid touching any of the wooden parts as they were rotting away

Overall the explore experience was good and I was glad we got to tick it off our list

It said that the AAOR post was constructed in 1951 but shortly came abandoned in 1960 it was also part of an army camp that was removed to make way for the M23 moterway that it site by.

as of December 2021, they are waiting for permission to demolish the old AAOR bunker -
