After dropping my daughter off at school and running a few errands, I still had some time before I needed to pick her up, so I decided to go check out a pillbox in Allhallows. I started to walk down on the beach, but then I noticed the tide was in, so I couldn't walk around as I had wanted to. I'll have to do that on another trip.

According to the EBOS maps, this is a type 24 pillbox, which was used in WW2. Most type 24 pillboxes were constructed in 1940.

St Mary the Virgin, Lydden

I visited a church on the way to Lydden and found it to be the creepiest church I have ever been to. Firstly, the scarecrow was in bad shape, and there was no signal in the area, which was unusual for me as I normally get a signal. I felt like I was in a horror film, but the church itself was really cute and well-kept. I have to admit, I left within 10-15 minutes as the place really creeped me out.

This church is listed as grade 2. It is said that the church dates back to around the 12th century but was restored between 1866 and 1899.

"I came across this church while looking for other things to do. I like visiting old churches, so I decided to head up and have a look. I was amazed at what it looked like inside. It was a nice little hidden gem, The interior of the church was also nice and well-maintained.

This building is Grade 1 and dates back to the 12th century. The church has been around for 900 years. It is also said that major restoration took place around the 1800s.

"This church was not on our list of churches to see. In fact, we just stumbled across it randomly. To my surprise, the church was such a lovely hidden little gem. The church itself is really lovely inside and well-kept too.

The church is Grade 2 listed, and the bell for the church has been there since 2017. The church dates back to the 13th century.",

Location:  Kent

                                                              Public or abandoned - Public.

I have to say I was a little bit disappointed with this church. It felt more like a social gathering than a place of worship. The church itself was nice, but there was also a jumble sale going on. Despite its beauty, the visit was very quick due to the amount of activity happening in the church.

According to the Domesday Book, the church dates back to around 1086, and it is a much-loved ancient parish church.

I always though this place was not in use , as from the outside it pretty run down and some bits are bored up , i saw it was on the heritage open day list , so i though i go and check it out , and i have to say it was nice seeing some different style pues ,  and a lot off stuff that back date to the old day haha,  i then found out by the lovely volunteers that are running the church that the hall gets used a lot , so that was interesting to know.

The church was constructed around the 1820s, and the churchyard dates back to around 1643. It is said that Baptists established a meeting house in 1655. The chapel reopened in 1952 after being damaged in the Second World War.

I've always wondered about this place in Dover. I've passed by it several times and never seen it open, except for a few times when it was partially open. The chapel is small, but it's a nice hidden gem in the middle of the busy town. The volunteer stationed at this cute little gem was also very informative about the history of the place. If you ever get a chance to attend heritage days, I recommend it, as you get to see some really good hidden gems..

So, it is said that the chapel is ancient, dating back to around 1253. It was once used as a cemetery of the maison. The chapel was restored in 1967-1968.
