Prince William Barracks - Chatham

  I have always wanted to explore this part of the barracks. While out on another exploration, we decided to give it another try this time. Unfortunately, this area of the fort was in a poor state. Despite the pitch-black darkness and lack of light, we managed to walk around and see what we could find.

 

We learned that the barracks were named after their third son. Additionally, we discovered that the battery functioned as a royal saluting battery in the 19th century, even though the rest of the fort had been declared obsolete.

M Block - Gravesend Hospital

A few hours before sunset, we went to Gravesend to explore the M Block. We had heard there was an entrance, but after failing to find it a few times before, we ended up failing again this time.

According to the information we gathered, the hospital closed around 2004, but the M Block remained open until about 2006. In the summer of 2018, the old M Block was purchased for approximately £2.3 million, and renovation work began in 2019. However, that work eventually came to a halt again.

West Malling - AA Bofors Tower

West Malling - AA Bofors Tower

We took the bus up to West Malling and went looking for the tower. Once we arrived, it was not that hard to find, as you can see, and there was even a plaque on it telling you what it is. We went up to the tower, noticed there was a gap under the fence, so we went under the fence and looked around the tower and explored it. It was a very quick explore.

The structure is identified as an anti-aircraft gun tower, also known as a Pickett-Hamilton fort, featuring a Type 24 pillbox. It was used during World War II as part of the WM airfield that was once located on King Hill.
