Ashford Museum

 Ashford Museum

Date April 2026 | Location Ashford | Open to the public

This was the last location on the Wheels of Time trail that we had to visit, so we spent the day exploring Ashford and discovering what it has to offer. The museum is quite small, and we were in and out within about 30 minutes. My daughter really enjoyed the train set that you first see when entering the building. The museum is located in the churchyard and is a Grade II listed building, dating back to the 17th century. It was once a school.

Lashenden Air Warfare Museum - Ashford

Lashenden Air Warfare Museum

Date April | Location Ashford | Open to the public

I have wanted to visit the Lashenden Air Warfare Museum for a long time. However, every time I tried to go, it was closed. When I finally saw that it was open, I headed to the museum to take a look around. The site is pretty small, but it also has a lot of interesting exhibits.

St Augustine's Church (redundant) , Ashford

 St Augustine's Church

Date April  2026 | Location Ashford | Open to the public

A friend recommended this location to me since they know I enjoy visiting churches. Since I was already in Ashford, I decided to check it out, even though it was a bit far from where I was. The church is slightly rundown, and a local mentioned that it is the least well-kept church in the area. It’s also somewhat hidden, but I found it nice to visit. However, there was a creepy feeling inside the church

I can't seem to find much info about this church

The Tyrwhitt-Drake Museum of Carriages

 The carriage museum

Date April 2026 | Location Maidstone | Seasonal - Open to the public on weekends.

This place has always been on my list of places to explore, but I kept missing the open days. When I saw that it was open to the public again, I drove down to Maidstone with my daughter to take a look. The museum is really interesting and has a little trail for kids to follow while exploring.

The museum opened in 1946 and was one of the first of its kind in Britain. It is only open during the summer months.
