St John Fisher school - Medway

 St John Fisher

                                           Delmoished: NO

I've known about St. John Fisher School being abandoned since the day it closed. Being a local, the news gets around quickly. I never went to this school, but I have friends who used to attend it. It's been on my "to-do" list for a very long time, and I finally had some free time on my hands. So, I met up with another group of explorers and went to check out the school. Once inside, which, to be honest, was pretty easy, we went looking around and exploring the building. There are homeless people living in there too, so it's best to stay away from the part they are living in as there are signs of life. The school is kind of the same size as most schools within the Medway area. This building was for year 9-11/sixth form, as the 7-8 had their own in a different part of town.

It's said that the school opened in 1964 but closed down in 2022 after a £40 million building was built to join both schools together.  in late 2023, the building was sold for £3.85 million to make way for around 139 homes.round 139 homes.

The church is a lovely little building, and we spent a good 45 minutes inside taking photos and admiring the stained glass. As the sun shone through, it created a beautiful effect. The church is very old and has a spooky vibe, but it's also quite peaceful and relaxed. It's a redundant church, and I didn't realize it was so local to me until I saw the postcode.

It's an Anglican church built in 1866, and the interior feels like a Victorian time capsule.

There's not much to say about this place; I was just passing by on my way to town and thought I'd take some photos. It's rumored that it will be taken over by a B&M store at some point, but the timing is uncertain.

Wilcos is said to be a family-run business that has been around for about 80 years. Unfortunately, the Gillingham store closed down on September 27th, 2023, after the closure of several other stores was announced. Most of the remaining stores have been turned into other stores, such as B&M. Wilcos came to Gillingham High Street in 2007

I visited this place years ago and wanted to go back to see what has changed. Unfortunately, the fort is quite overgrown and not easily visible from the shorefront. However, it's still a very interesting place.

The fort, completed in 1865, was out of service by WW1. It temporarily served as an anti-aircraft defense system before being abandoned. The fort was badly damaged during demolition. It was equipped with a 6-inch rifle breach gun. In 1905, the fort was renamed from Grain Battery to Dummy Fort.

While exploring Romley Mash, we stumbled upon an intriguing church that caught our attention. Upon arrival, we were pleased to find that the church was open for visitors. It was a fascinating experience to look around the church as it seemed that nothing had changed in centuries.

According to the information provided, the church dates back to the 12th century. In the 13th century, the church isle was added to the building. Most of the items inside the church date back to the 18th century and have remained unchanged since then.

"I visited this place for the second time, and this time the key was hanging up on the gate where it was supposed to be. Once we got the key, we headed down to the church, following the footpath along the way, passing by some sheep on the way to the church. We opened the door with the key. Even though the church is small, it is still a really interesting place to visit because of the history behind it.

Its said that this tiny church backdated to around the 12th century, and in the 18th century, it was restored with brick
