we spent a good hour inside the church taking photos and videos of the places and it defo somewhere ill recommend  people to visit in the open hours

Living very local to Cliffe and less than 10 mins away I thought I’ll meet up with a good explore friend off mine and have another little nose around the marsh to see what has changed.

The day starts off pretty wired! First, it snowed and then I was sunny but heyho that British weather for you πŸ˜…

I know cliffe marsh very well as used to go down there a lot , only thing that has changed is the fact you can no longer get into cliffe fort anymore - ( cliffe fort 2014 & Cliffe fort 2015)
Other that and my feet hurting a bit was an overall good day out mooching around the marsh again

It is said that the ROC post opened in 1961 but closed down 7 years later in 1968,
it also said that the old kilns backdate to around 1866-6
pe for the Johnson chamber kiln.
sadly can not find any history on the air-raid shelter so possible to do with the house near by
it said that Cliffe fort was built about the 1860s to help guard the Thames against a sea-born attack - it's one of many forts around the kent shorelines.
the old decoy air-field is said to backdate to 1941-1942

The Explore :

Getting down to the bunker was easy any anything like it on a public walking route, the drive down to it was so lovely saw all kinds of nature, we parked up in the carpark and then walked down to the bunker

When exploring the bunker - I scared a pass by who was taking photos off the bunker πŸ˜… I didn’t mean to scare them, just I was coming out the door as they were about to walk in, but we stood chatting for a while.

The bunker itself is very small but very open, so makes me wonder if they're gonna leave it open or gonna close it up because of how public the bunker is.

There is not much to the shelter - it only has one room, and a small escape shaft and the entrance was made out of blast prove.
