While traveling through East Sussex, I received a tip about this abandoned church. Since I enjoy exploring churches, I thought I would check it out. Getting inside was easy, and once I was inside, I found it to be quite intriguing. The church was built in the 1950s and continued to host services until shortly after the Christmas Day Mass in 2009. Despite having a congregation of between 50 to 90 people, it closed due to a shortage of priests.

As a local to Chatham, I walk or drive past the Chatham Casemates almost daily. I never paid much attention to them until recently when I decided to stop and take a closer look at the casemates.

Hadleigh Castle

Current state:  Ruins

We were out exploring the area as places started to reopen, so we decided to visit Hadleigh Castle. I was slightly disappointed because I wouldn't really describe it as a castle, but at least I can cross it off my English Heritage list. The castle was built in the 13th century and later became a favored retreat for Edward III.

This has to be one of the most haunting places I have ever visited, and I must say, I felt quite uneasy here, too. It is said that this eerie well has been abandoned since 1924.
