"I had a day off work and decided to visit Upnor to see Cockham Wood Fort and the Type 24 pillbox on the waterfront. Although I had been here before, I never really took any photos.

Cockham Wood Fort was built around 1669 but was abandoned around 1818 and was never used due to wars. It was left to rot and became the ruins that you see today.

Type 24 pillbox lies on the beach. It was built between 1940 to protect the beach. Despite falling into the sand, the pillbox is still in good condition. ,
