We planned our tip up here a few weeks beforehand when the day came we drove almost 2hr here, there is an admission fee of £4 and they do take cash & card the fort is not that big but worth a little visit, it also well hidden too we drove past it twice, there lots of different displays and within the rooms too, The stairwell is also one way down and one way up witch is great, you can easily spend up to 2hr here too there some nice view from the top of the fort too if you go on a nice day like we did there a small breeze too
so it said that harwich readout fort was built in 1808 and was used to help protect against Napoleonic invasion, it also said that this beautiful fort is grade 2 listed as well, and the fort is run by volunteers the fort was used in the wars , in 1969 the fort started to get restore, Harwich redoubt fort has been classed as an ancient moment
