Hurst castle - Keyhaven

 Hurst castle

Date:  August 2021

Location: Keyhaven

Public or Abandoned: Public

Demolished:  No

Youtube Video:

The drive up to the castle from Kent was about 2 and bit hours long, once we arrived in keyhaven we then got a small ferry over to the castle / Fort

Once we are at the fort we start our free roam around the site, unfortunately, due to part of it falling into the sea only a small section was open to the public which included bastions and magazine rooms

is said that the fort was built anywhere between 1541-1544 by Henry VII, To help protect key ports around southern England, the fort was active in both wars. sadly in part of the fort collapsed in 2021 in bad storms
