Exploring this fort was an intriguing experience. The journey to reach the fort involved a pleasant, long walk, and there was an added thrill in climbing inside. Unfortunately, the lower levels of the fort are currently flooded and inaccessible.

According to historical records, the fort was constructed in the late 1860s to protect the area from sea attacks. It is situated in alignment with another fort in Essex.
